‘Today I drew’ is based on Carl Jung’s drawings of mandalas:
“I sketched every morning in a notebook a small circular drawing, a mandala, which seemed to correspond to my inner situation at the time. With the help of these drawings I could observe my psychic transformations from day to day…My mandalas were cryptograms…in which I saw the self—that is, my whole being—actively at work.” Jung in 1965
I drew a black line sketch every day and then wrote down my first reactions to the image. The process quickly became a link to memories and feelings that I had at the time. It is a true reflection of my ‘self’ back in 2004 and an interesting diary to read after 12 years. It has inspired me to start another one. Here are few page examples…
